STATE GOVERNMENT: Columbia is the state capital and the largest city in South Carolina. The General Assembly, with full staff and support personnel, is in session from January to July. The State House is located one mile from BullStreet.
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA: The University of South Carolina is a public, co-educational research university located in the center of Columbia, approximately one mile from BullStreet. The university’s population is approximately 50,000. Tens of thousands are drawn to the university’s athletic and cultural events.
BALLPARK (Opened April 2016): Spirits Communications Park, a 365-day-venue open to the public with daily events, will be home to the Columbia Fireflies, a NY Mets Class A Affiliate, with 8,500 seats and over 500,000 attendees annually. The ballpark has a $29M commitment from City of Columbia and $6M private funding from Hardball Capital with a 30 year commitment to operate and maintain the facility.
